Mechanism of Action: Itraconazole 200 mg 

The drug acts by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol in fungal cells, which is important in fungal cell membranes. In sensitive fungi, itraconazole increases permeability with the result that it causes cell death due to inhibition of ergosterol synthesis.
