Levofloxacin 500 mg is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used in the treatment of a number of diseases resulting from bacteria. It comes in the category of fluoroquinolones because it inhibits a number of bacteria.

Mechanism of Action

Levofloxacin is a compound that inhibits or blocks enzymatic activity that results in strong catalytic action of bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV action in processes of DNA replication, transcription, and repair. The viruses kill the bacteria through their inability to multiply by stopping these processes.
