Betahistine 16 mg
Betahistine 16 mg is a medication primarily used to manage symptoms associated with Ménière’s disease and other balance disorders. It helps reduce episodes of vertigo, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and hearing loss.
Composition of Betahistine 16 mg
Betahistine: A histamine analog applied through the inner ear to treat symptoms related to problems of the inner ear and balance.
Uses
Betahistin is commonly prescribed for:
Ménière’s disease: A disorder characterized by vertigo, tinnitus, and hearing loss.
Vertigo and Dizziness: To improve balance and reduce the attack rate of nausea and dizziness.
Mechanism of Action
Betahistine is a histamine receptor agonist, with special action on H1 and H3 receptors within the brain and the inner ear. Using them may improve symptoms in patients because of increased blood flow in the inner ear and lowering of the endolymphatic pressure, which represents fluid pressure inside of it.
